Protein Audit

Privacy

Last updated 17 September 2026

There is no account to make, so you can use every part of Protein Audit without telling us who you are. What follows is everything that is collected when you do. About covers what the tool itself does.

What stays on your device

The foods you put on the plate are never sent anywhere. The dataset is downloaded to your browser and all the scoring happens there. Your recently used foods are kept in your browser’s local storage under aae.recents.v1 so the list survives a reload; clearing your browser data removes it, and it never leaves the device.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the tool is used and to measure advertising. It sets cookies and records the usual things — pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser, and which ad or link brought you here.

One custom event, plate_scored, is sent when a plate reaches two or more foods and produces a score. It carries the number of foods, the amino acid score, the complete protein in grams and which amino acid was limiting. It does not carry the names of the foods.

You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on, or with any tracker blocker — the tool works exactly the same either way.

If you sign in to the idea board

Reading the board needs no account. Pitching or voting signs you in with Google, and that stores your name, email address and profile picture, along with whatever you write, in our database at Supabase. Ideas and votes are public to other visitors. Ask us and we’ll delete yours.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for a short period.

Data we never collect

We do not ask for or store anything about your health, your diet or your body. Nothing you put on the plate is treated as personal health information, because none of it reaches us.
